ALCS Stats, Possibilities

The ALCS is tied 2-2. The Astros beat the Rangers last night, 18-8, and robbed Texas of back-to-back games to dramatize game five.

Last Game

Grand slam? Not so fast.

The bases were loaded. Yordan Alvarez hit a line drive/pop fly deep smack in the middle of center field which would have been a homer in most MLB fields, but it dropped into the glove of the center fielder, and it turned out to be a sac fly. Next up was Jose Abreu, who was payed a ton of money but was underperforming like he has never underperformed before. Anyways, he was up, and he hit a line drive which cleared the fences for a three-run dinger. Out? Oh Wow. A very unusual call was made in the bottom of the fifth when Rangers’ Corey Seager hit a line drive to Houston’s 1B Jose Abreu and Abreu caught it, and Texas’ Marcus Semien (who was on first base) slid head-first into first. Semien’s batting gloves happened to be sticking out of his pocket, and when Abreu couched down for the tag, he got a part of a batting glove’s finger. (Or so it looked like.) At first it was called safe by the umpire, but Houston challenged the call. After the review, it was called out. Next game Who is the starting pitcher? Texas: Jordan Montgomery is starting for the Rangers. The lefthander started the flow in the game one Texas win, with a 2.08 ERA in three starts this postseason.
