Yanks Get Verdugo for Pitchers

The New York Yankees end up with Alex Verdugo after they traded Richard Fitts, Greg Weissert and Nicholas Judice, all pitchers, with the Boston Red Sox. Verdugo had a .281/.337/.428 slash line in his career. The lefty slugger was drafted by the Dodgers in the 2014 Amateur Draft in the second round.

He debuted on September 1, 2017, but was 0-3. He has gotten better during that gap, with a .281 batting average and 255 RBIs.

The Yankees are stocking up on their players, getting Juan Soto and other players from a recent trade.
